Happy Halloween & I'm outta here!

Had a fun filled day of parades (halloween & watching the Phillies), class parties, trick-or-treating, and packing (well not so fun). We're outta here bright and early for sunny Florida...some fun times in Disney World. We'll talk when I get back

Bad, bad blogger

Yes that's me. I've been SO busy this month. Lot's of soccer, some creating, more soccer and this weekend family is visiting. And to top it off this month has been busy at night watching baseball playoffs( listening to the game now as I type this) Go Phillies!!!!!

Had a fun Soccer Shocker Tournament yesterday...got some cool pictures I'll have to scrap. (They wore costumes and played 3v3 games) Today I had a family dinner, a game and finished up my DT stuff forCC. (Not in that order)

Can't wait until next Saturday...off to visit with the MOUSE for a whole week!!!!
After this month I'd love a week in the Florida sunshine having fun with the family.

Somethings to share

So after soccer today (which bytheway was damp, windy, and cold(compared to the 80 degree temps earlier this week lol)) I bribed the kids with McD's for lunch...so long as they'd behave while I went up to the Grand Opening of One Little Spark the Shop . So off we went...when we got there people were milling about, Pat was manning the Make-and-Take table while Lee manned the register. I quickly picked up some of the goodies I had spied in earlier visits and then made my way t o Mickey D's. No time for much chatter...I briefly poked my head into the Cafe to say "Hi" to Angela (a scrapbook & a stamp store were not high in the list of "must-do's" for a 10yr old boy )

Returning home with everyone fed and content off I went to start some laundry and head to the scraproom. I got both of these in the mail on Thursday:

This is called "Lot's of Laugh's" and this is the one I got as my DT assignment for Novemeber.

and this equally FAB kit is called "What a Hoot" ( I had to buy this one just to play with...with all the free-time I have ) Both kits contain some PinkPaislee goodness. The LOL kit has some gorgeous sparkly MME papers and the What a Hoot has OctoberAfternoon! Now do you understand why I had to get both??? If you are interested check them out over at Coordinates Collections. They are available for pre-order in the CC Store.

And besides these 2 kits I had some stuff I picked up at the Cafe last week for my October DT project.

Well all said and done I completed 2 layouts this afternoon and manged to get 3 loads of laundry done.

Here is my layout I did for the Scrapbook Cafe:

Pattern Paper is from CosmoCricket "Just Campy"; Bazzill Cardstock; "Autumn" is a metal accent by Pressed Petals; and the rubons are from Heidi Grace Designs. All these products are currently in stock at the Cafe.

Now I can't show you the whole thing but I can give you a little sneek of the next layout....

Well that's probably all I'm going to get done this weekend...tomorrow we'll be travelling to a soccer game. Talk later.

A quick post

to catch you all up, as I sit here catching up on laundry(it never ends).

So the weekend trips back & forth to Mt. Laurel were all worth it as you can tell by the following picture...

(sorry it's a little fuzzy...I cropped him out of a much bigger "sharper" group picture)

Yes, his team won 1st place in their respective U-11 grouping. We played 3 other teams ranked higher in league play than we currently are...winning 2 and tieing 1.

Nothing creative to share yet. (But I'd say I have a good excuse of time well spent this weekend) Hopefully in a day or 2 I'll have my DT project for the Cafe finished and I can show you.

So far....

I've been enjoying my time off. Yesterday I drove up to the Cafe. Picked up some stuff for a new DT project, talked with Angela, popped in One Little Spark to see what Pat & Lee were up to...they were busy unpacking lots of fun goodies. Definitely saw some things that I need.

Today after doing some grocery shopping I decided to start on the disaster of a scraproom. Whew, where to begin???....several months worth of project scraps strewn around the desk area. This needed to be tackled first! I went in armed with a large box, since I found out the Cafe will be having a yardsale next weekend. So after clearing the desk top I've started purging supplies. Hopefully I can get the box up to the Cafe and I can make a little something off this stuff that has been collecting dust in my room. (Maybe a little extra $$ for some of those cool things I saw at Pat's store???)

I'd like to get my area all cleaned up by tonight because this weekend is the Fall Cyber Crop at Coordinates Collections. I'm kinda bummed that I have a Soccer Tournament most of the weekend. The one good thing is that Sarah is going to post all the challenges tonight, so maybe I can get a few done tomorrow. That is if the kids cooperate...no school tomorrow.(Teacher in-service day) So if you are looking for something to do this weekend, check out the challenges and come scrap with the girls over at CC. There will be some fun doorprizes too.

So that's what I've been up to so far. Oh and yes Sarah, I am in the OCT. issue of SBEtc.
Off to go purge more.

Quite SIMPLY it's been a good week so far.

Well other than missing a turn on the way to Sundays soccer game(which put us way off course...we ended up getting there a few minutes after the game started). It ended up okay...he played, had an assist on a goal and his team won. Yesterday I got home...finally had all the internet issues straightened out(ended up being a bad modem on our end) and started surfing the net and checking blogs. Hitting the Fancy Pants blog I find I'm a prize winner! Woo Hoo!! Not a bad way to start your week. Today I come home check my email and guess what....I get a request for a page from Simple Scrapbooks and to top it off I'm on vacation for the rest of the week! So not a bad week so far, hoping to get caught up on stuff around the house the rest of the week and then we have a Soccer Tournament this weekend.

So that's my quick update...off to make my people dinner.

I was able to stay true to my word

After soccer and after we stopped at a local farmstand to pickup pumpkins we decorated for Halloween.

This is a brief glimpse of what is on my kitchen island right now. (DH doesn't like it because this is where he usually spreads out a dishtowel & lets the dishes sit to dry) During the holiday season I always try to do something "festive" on the island.

Anyway I also told you that I wanted to CREATE and I did...look at that pumpkin. Gosh I hardly ever alter anything, but while picking out pumpkins this idea popped into my mind. (Couldn't wait to come home and get started)

Here's a closer look:

First I traced the diamond shape pattern on to my pumpkin (used that awesome template from the Cafe(the one from the BacktoSchool layout)) Then using some black acrylic paint I painted all the diamonds. When they were dry I placed rhinestones between each diamond. I grabbed a bunch of black & white ribbons from my stash and tied around the stem. I outlined a small white tag with black pen then used AC Lax glitter Thickers for "boo!". I cut a bat out of black cardstock ( a front and back) coated each piece with Stickles then glued a piece of wire between the pieces. When it was dry I curled the wire around a pencil then inserted in the side of the stem. Viola...an ALTERED PUMPKIN!

I admit...I'm addicted

to the internet. My internet service went down on Wednesday night as I was working on some monthly stuff over at CC and it just came back up this afternoon. Not sure what was wrong...we did have a storm on Wednesday night and onetime before....water somehow got in the connector? and shorted us out until it dried up. So I'm thinking that's what happened this time...we'll see when the Comcast guy get's here tomorrow.

So you'd think with no internet I'd get busy creating....WRONG! I sat here obsessing about not having access to the net. Wishing I had a cell phone with internet access and then even more bummed when I realized the VP debate interupted my watching of Grey's Anatomy.

Anyway I'm here now. Hoping to get something creative done soon. I first must cleanup my scraproom...it looks like a small scrapbook store exploded in there! But first thing on the agenda this weekend(besides soccer lol) is Halloween decorations. I promised Becca that we'd get them out this weekend.

Have a great weekend everyone.

Can you believe it's October???

September just flew by! I think I've been so busy going from activity to activity that it just made it speed by even more than usual.

So yes it is the 1st of the month so new kits are up over at Coordinates Collections. This month I took the fun "Spooks" kit. Lots of fun Halloween stuff from Prima & SEI, a really cool Glitter Cut from Fancy Pants, some MM letters & Scenic Route Chipboard. I did 3 Halloween layouts and 1 other layout.

Here's a Halloween layout I did about a Bee Costume I made when Fritz was a baby. Since then Becca wore it, some cousins, and a few friends. It's made out of cozy fleece with a stuffed body(so it's a nice toasty costume).

Then here's my non-halloween layout. I used stuff from the kit and added in a piece of kraft cardstock and some MM Tiny Alphas.

"home is where the Heart is" was totally inspired by that cute chipboard house by Scenic Route. I walked around the house and took pictures of some of my favorite things. On the back I journaled about what each one is. Briefly: a desk that has been passed down to the eldest son on my husbands side of the family this dates back to the 1700's; my "new" kitchen (we remodeled a few years ago); a needlepoint chair from my grandmothers house; a collection of black & white family photos(old & new); a welcoming arrangement hanging on the door; and a stack of quilts all made by my grandmother.(one a gift when I graduated college, a christmas present after I got married, a crib quilt for each of my children(she passed away with my daughters quilt still in her quilting frame) and lastly a quilt I got to pick from her collection after she passed away)
I just posted the Guest DT challenge over in the forum. If you'd like a chance to work with one of the awesome kits Jamie puts together go check it out. I can't wait to get my hands on my November kit it's called "Just for Laughs" Pattern Papers from MME & Pink Paislee...YUM!
So that's about all for today. Getting ready for some new episodes of some fave shows tonight.
