brrr...it's a bit brisk out

it certainly feels like fall today. I was just outside taking a picture of my project for the SNC this week, right now its in the low 50's. Anyway I'm home alone, but have just not been feeling that great...so not a lot of scrapping going on. Today is the 1st day I've actually felt like myself (fingers crossed that it stays that way) I did do the SNC last night. The challenge was to do a layered card.

I started with a plain sheet of kraft cardstock, cut 8x6". On top of that I layered a piece of Anna Griffin Pattern Paper (Sierra Collection) cut 5x7". Then the next layer is a scrap of a Hambly Transparency. The "Hi!" stickers were placed on top of the transparecny (Cloud 9 Design). Then the final layer is a bird I cut from the Anna Griffin papers mounted on foam tape for some dimension.

All materials were purchased at the Scrapbook Cafe. I don't usually by the Anna Griffin stuff, but I loved the colors of this collection...very warm & fallish. It is a nice heavy weight printed cardstock. LOVE it!!!

I also have to give a plug to Pat. She has leased a space in the Village Shoppes in Tuckerton...right next door to the Cafe. She will be opening a stamp & cardmaking store...One Little Spark. It should be opening in mid-october. Just when I was saving my money for winter CHA, she opens a store!

yes I'm still alive...

My Sunday afternoon cleaning/organizing project turned into a remodeling project! We ripped up carpet in the playroom, purged A LOT of unused toys, and have layed new Pergo laminate flooring this week. There is even talk that I may get this room as a scraproom, but for now the toys are getting moved back in. However, I'm already thinking colors and new organizational ideas. Hopefully soon I can take it over!

So I haven't created anything this week and I'm going a little crazy...ideas are building in my mind. Gotta get some ideas down on paper then I can share with you. I was also really hoping on hearing something about a few calls this week, but alas nothing yet. Probably not my month....but I guess I probably need to submit more than 3 things right???

Next week Dan & the kids are going to South Carolina so I will have the whole week to myself. Hopefully the creative juices will be flowing and I can have some fun stuff to share. I'm looking forward to seeing what this week's Saturday night challenge will be, I should have time to do it.

Home from soccer

Just an update...since I've ignored my blog all week.
We had 2 soccer games this morning...the 1st at 8am!!!
After that game I had to run Bec to a bday party, left her there then headed back out to the fields to watch the 2nd game. Both teams we played were seeded in the top division, so we knew it would be tough. We lost the first game then won the 2nd game...so it was a great start to the season. Tomorrow we have another game at 9:30am so we get to sleep in a bit. 6am came way to early this morning. So now we're all home getting ready to throw the "stinky" soccer uniform in the wash, then I think we're just going to relax at the pool this afternoon.

Tomorrow after the game I have the usual laundry to do but I'd also like to get up to the scraproom and get some cleaning/organizing done. Since the CC stuff is a bit delayed due to the fact that both kits have new CHA goodies in them, I might as well take advantage of the time to get my creative mess organized.

It's done and I love it!

I've always wanted to do a little project like this and when Pat posted it as the Saturday Night Challenge last week I couldn't wait to get started. Now what PP to choose? I have SO many favorites. I love green with either blue or pink accents...hmmmm. I decided to go with the green/pink combo and chose 2 pieces of BG Sultry (Swell & Swanky) Without further ado here is a week in my life documented with 1 picture from each day:

and a summary

To embellish my mini-album I used: BG Sultry: Element Stickers, Creative Cafe: Phrase Stickers, sm tag, & Impress-ons; Kaiser: Rhinestones; MM: Tiny Alphas; ColorBox Pigment Ink-Moss Green. The ribbons & small charm were hiding in my stash too.

So now in a small way you've learned a little more about my life.

On other notes...work is still crazy!!! 3 nights of soccer practice this week since they have a tournament this weekend. The humidity has broken for a bit...so nice to have the windows open.
Patiently awaiting my box of goodies from CC (I'm a sponsor girl this month...so no kit for me. My box will be a total surprise) Oh and my baby had her 1st sleepover this past weekend...one slightly teary phone call to say she missed me(at 10:30pm) but wanted to stay. She did and I picked her up at 10 the next day. I'm sure there will be many more to come.

Halfway thru the challenge

thought I'd share a peek of my cover.

This is the cover to my mini-tag album. This week's Saturday Night Challenge was to make a mini-tag album...each page was to have a picture from that day. It documents one week in your life...hence my title "Just One Week". For my album I cut 3 1/2 x 6 tags from white cardstock. I chose 2 pieces of paper from the BG "Sultry" line, BG sultry diecut stickers, Creative Cafe Stickers & Rubons and MM Tiny Alphas for my title and to label each day of the week. When the album is done I plan on embellishing the binder ring with ribbons and a few other items.

I just printed out my "wednesday" picture and will make that tag a little later tonight. I've always wanted to do a project like this and I'm glad Pat posted this as the challenge this week.

Work has just been plain "crazy" and I'm feeling SO stressed about it. Luckily this seems to have sparked a creative burst...I've been scrappin like crazy at night. Not to long, but just enough to destress and relax. Gotta love my scrappin therapy...now all I need is my monthly massage appointment to get here and I'll be lovin life (at least until the next work day )

Since I had a hard time deciding

which kit to choose for August I ended up buying the second kit over at Coordinates Collections.

I worked with the "Vegetable Garden" kit as my DT assignment (it has already sold out) and then purchased the "Citrus Grove" kit just for fun. So I just got done posting all my projects in the gallery over there but I thought I'd share a favorite from each kit.

this one is from the "Vegetable Garden" kit. I used a piece of American Crafts PP as the background, mounted my pictures on whitecardstock (not included in kit), black velvet American Crafts ribbon across the bottom, black felt letters from Prima, fish were hand cut from some scrps of Cosmo Cricket paper, "koi" is doodlebug stickers which were flocked(not included in kit) and finally I used American Crafts "Purkey" rubons for my journaling (these were not in the kit either). to give the fish dimension I adhered with layers of foam tape.

Now this layout is from the "Citrus Grove" kit. Everything here with the exception of the white cardstock is from the kit. Pattern Papers & Sticker is Tinkering Ink, letter stickers: Pink Paislee; velvet ribbon American Crafts; Flower: Prima; Rubon journaling spot & brad: Creative Imaginations. I wanted to use the rubon more like a diecut so I adhered it to white cardstock and the cut it out, journaled then adhered to the layout. As you are aware....my girl loves PINK!

P.S. the Prima PP in the layout in the previous post is from the citrus grove kit. It has a fabulous pink/orange pattern on the reverse side.

So there you have it some of my creations from the past month. Also if you get the chance to get over to CC you need to check out the gallery for some of the projects for this month's kits. The girls did a great job this month and we had 2 ROCKIN' Guest DT members this month. Sarah was one of them had she has some awesome projects. You go girl!!!

Happy August!
