Challenge #6 at the Coordinates Collection Cyber crop was to scrap a bad photo. That's easy we all have bad pictures right? This was just the push I needed to scrap a certain picture. It was an accidental shot...playing with my manual settings, but I loved the "artsy" feel it had. (Not sure I could recreate it though :wink) The word "Motion" is what I immediately associated with the picture so that's where my title came from.
I apologize that the oneside is a bit dark. I used the scanner since we were having some violent thunderstorms and I guess the scanner didn't like all the lumpy embellishing.
Pattern Papers by Prima, Scenic Route and Fancy Pants. Ribbon & chipboard is also by Fancy Pants, American Crafts Thickers & Photo Corners and some Stickles applied to the small chipboard heart.
Well I'm off to see what else I can come up with on this sunday afternoon.

Had a nice day visiting with an old friend
One of my friends from college stopped by this afternoon. (One of the nice things about living at the shore...everyone usually comes to the beach during the summer) It's been 2 years since we saw each other last, but it always ends up being just like old times. We talked about our families, friends and the fact that we can't believe we've been out of college for 20 years! We'd both like to get back to Lycoming in the fall for homecoming, but I think that's unlikely for me since we now have traveling soccer commitments.
Anyway nothing scrappy to show you at the moment. There's a cyber crop going on over at Coordinates Collections this weekend. Sarah has come up with some great challenges. I have a few ideas in my head for a couple of them. Then since today is Saturday, Pat will be posting the Saturday Night Challenge on her blog tonight at 8pm. Hopefully tomorrow I can get some serious scrapping done.

I went Fancy with challenge #21
well it's simple in design but I went the Fancy Pants route with my scrapping supplies.
This weeks theme/challenge....spots, dots, circles and such.
I started with this picture of Becca from Saturday night hanging out on my friends dock. Then I pulled out some "dotted" paper from the Fancy Pants "Celebrate" line. So the picture and paper layed on my desk waiting for some inspiration...it struck yesterday while at work. (Don't ask) Anyway no time to scrap until tonight. Talk about cutting it close. So 3 different sheets from the "Celebrate" line: Make Merry, Confetti, and Play which I cut into circles varing in size from 1" up to 2" (cut with my Cricut). For some dimension I used felt from the "Splash" set. (the smaller circles were actually punched out of some scallop pieces...thrifty I know) The chipboard is also by Fancy Pants, it comes "raw". I inked with ColorBox Chalk ink in Prussian Blue then coated lightly with stickles...baby blue.
I know the paper and felt was in stock at the Scrapbbok Cafe, not sure what is left now. ( I haven't been to the store in awhile.)

There's something fishy...
about this sneak peek.
another peek of a layout using the "Vegetable Garden" kit from Coordinates Collections.
I've been messing around with the design of this for a couple of days. I couldn't decided if I wanted to do a 2 pager or not. Finally I decided on just a single page and this is what I did on thursday night. Hmmm....look at that fabulous velvet scalloped ribbon from American Crafts, some American Crafts pattern paper and those handcut fish(scraps of CosmoCricket). I can't wait to show you the whole thing.
So speaking of fishy, it's a hot one here in South Jersey this weekend. We will be spending most of the day at the pool. Then tonight we will head over to Ocean City for the "Night in Venice" parade. This will be the 1st time in about 20 years Dan hasn't had to work it and I haven't seen the parade in about 15 years. Basically it's a boat parade along the bayfront. People decorate boats and parade along the bayfront and in-and-out the various lagoons. Homeowners along the bay and lagoons throw extravagant themed parties. Some really going all out. Tonight we're heading to a friends house (no extravagant party) but we will be watching from their dock...it should be fun.
Don't forget to head over t o Pat's Blog at 8pm tonight to see this weeks Saturday Night Challenge...I believe it will be "spotted".

Flocking & a peek
Yes!
For the first time in a few weeks I was able to do the Saturday Night Challenge. We had to do some flocking for the challenge. Well, it just happens that I started playing with flock last month and think it is really fun. So, I kept with the "Frosty" feel of Christmas in July, but my card is more of a Love/Valentine. I started out with a plain white notecard from Creative Cafe ( I picked up a pack of these cards a few months ago at the Scrapbook Cafe and I love them...they have a slight ribbed texture), I chose a plain chipboard snowflake from the pack of BasicGrey holiday chipboard I had out from this month's DT project, a small chipboard heart, a small scrap of black cardstock, and some ribbon from my stash.
I flocked the snowflake white and added a thin black flocked border around my block as a frame. The chipboard heart was covered in "burgundy" Stickles.
This is what I came up with:
on the inside it says: "you warm my heart"
So it's a bit on the simple side, but the challenge is done. I was feelling kinda bad about not participating lately.
Now on to Coordinates Collections...so far I have 2 layouts done with my August kit and a few more ideas brewing. I promised a little sneek so here it is:
Stay tuned for more peeks here or on the CC MB. Probably tomorrow a sneek peek thread will be started. Some times we can't help but to tease

So whatcha doing?
Me....I have SO many creative ideas floating around my head right now; I actually find it hard to scrap (I don't know what to do 1st!) Alot of those ideas were sparked by the arrival of 2 kits earlier this week from Coordinates Collections. I have both August kits up in my scraproom and they are SO FAB! Also Pat posted this weeks Saturday Night Challenge on her blog...ah my new favorite thing...Flocking! Just thought of an idea while I was doing the dishes; tonight I'll try to get it done. I can't scrap during the day since DH is on nights this weekend and to get to my scraproom, you have to walk thru our bedroom; besides it's been a fabulous weekend. Have been outside weeding and lounging by the pool yesterday afternoon & this morning. Last night I did finish one layout using the "Vegtable Patch" kit. Maybe tomorrow when I post my SNC project( fingers crossed that I finish it tonight) I'll give you a little peek at it.
Enjoy your Sunday!
Enjoy your Sunday!

Summer CHA will be here soon
have you seen anything you like???
At first I wasn't very excited, but then I started checking/stalking some blogs. Not a good idea. I've seen some very fun stuff that I think I might need to add to my stash. Lets see:
American Crafts...just about everything.
(okay I have a serious addiction here...especially those dang Thickers)
Fancy Pants-"All Fall" line. Great school/fall papers
Pink Paislee...I am over the moon in love with "Vintage Moon" & those topsiders.
October Afternoon- "Hometown"
Collage Press- "Jackson Lodge"
LuxeDesigns- "Sugar Cookie" & "Ginger Snap"
WRMK-"Hoopla" (my colors for sure)
Alrighty then I'll stop... as you can see as much as I like to scrap I also have a serious addiction to collecting supplies. I only wish my wallet had an endless source of cash.
Yeserday got a nice box of goodies from Coordinates Collections ( I did break down and buy the other kit) So 2 kits this month and a few extra goodies/basics. Still contemplating that manuf. DT gig. I have a couple of things picked out to submit...just got to pick.

It's Christmas in July!
well at least that's the theme for our DT projects at the Scrapbook Cafe.
When I was up at the store last month I asked Angela if she had any idea for what she wanted us to do this month. Since it is sometimes difficult for me to get to the store and the price of gas doesnt help either. ( I wish I lived closer, but I'm sure my husband doesn't ) Anyway she said "Let's do Christmas in July" So off I went to the Christmas section. I took a sheet of Rhonna Farrer, Fancy Pants, and Heidi Grace. I didn't take anything else since I knew I had other Christmas stuff in my stash ( I seem to collect Holiday items, but then rarely use them???)
This way I'd force myself to use up some stuff. And I think just about everything I used did come from the Cafe!
I chose a few pictures of my little helper baking Christmas Cookies. To the 3 pieces of previously mentioned pattern papers I added: a scallop cut from some Doodlebug Sugar Coated papers; Kaiser Rhinestones; Basic Grey Chipboard- undressed "Hip" letters & "Christmas tree. Both the letters & tree I first inked with ColorBox Chalk Inks, then layered some Stickles on top. On the letters I used "Icicle" on the tree: "lime green", "cinnamon" & "gold". Here's a closeup of the tree, I think it's my favorite part:
So on this incredibly humid, wet Saturday morning I celebrated Christmas in July! If only I could harness some of that cool December air right now!
I'm contemplating a few other scrappy ideas right now. I toying with the idea of trying out for another DT (a manufacturer) and I'm going thru layouts using their product and I'm thinking of an idea for a new layout. I believe the odds of me getting a position are very slim; but I may give it a try anyway. (Sheesh I'm a glutant for punishment....I hate rejection. after I send it off I'm going to try to forget about it)
Well the kids are bugging me for lunch and then I'm going to probably read some. I'm on my 3rd book since I mentioned "Change of Heart". A friend of mine just gave me a stack of books. Last week I read "Island of Lost Girls"...kinda "dark" but it was captivating & a quick read. Now I'm reading "the Secret Life of CeeCee Wilkes" by Diane Chamberlain. The subtitle "She lived a lie to keep her daughter". So far so good.

Happy Birthday America!
Becca talked her father into baking cupcakes for America's birthday. So off they went to the grocery store, bought the supplies, baked, and actually cleaned up. When I got home from work there was a beautiful plate of cupcakes. This was Tuesday...Becca refuses to eat them until today. Fritz has snuck a few and I admit I had one last night. Staged this picture for the blog this morning. Later today as per Becca's instructions we will sing Happy Birthday (or some patriotic song...not sure what she has decided) then we will feast on cupcakes.
Not muched planned for our holiday. Dan has to work tonight (overtime). If the weather holds out...it's not looking to promising, I'll take the kids to see the fireworks. Tomorrow we have a graduation partry to attend. Other than that I'd like to get some scrappy projects finished. Speaking of that this weeks Saturday Nicht Challenge sounds interesting. Be sure to check Pat's blog tomorrow night at 8 o'clock.
Have a Happy Safe Holiday Weekend!

It's preview day
Here are my 2 favorite layouts I did with the Sunny Days kit over at Coordinates Collections.
"Butterfly House" This layout was totally inspired by one of the sheets of Rusty Pickle Pattern Paper included in the kit. When I saw the paper I remembered I had these pictures from Epcot. On one side was black with a white butterfly on the lower half. The other side had black & white doodled circle with images of butterflies inside the circles. I chose an image close to my picture, cut it out, then colored it to match my picture with colored pencils. I even broke out my Quickutz "studio" font to cut the word "butterfly". With the exception of the white cardstock and the American Crafts "Purkey" rubons it was all from the kit.
Now the next layout centers around another sheet of that great Black & White Pattern Paper from Rusty Pickle. I remember seeing it the 1st day at CHA when I was walking around with Jamie & Lisa. We talked about putting it in a kit and at the time I started thinking of all kinds of fun things you could do with it. Well then I forgot all about the paper and didn't know if Jamie ever ordered any. How happy I was to see it in this kit. So what did I do with it?
Oh I had to blur the photo because I don't like posting other peoples kids on the net...it actually is a good picture that Becca took herself now that I let her use the point&shoot.
I FLOCKED! I totally loved the "doodley" design on this, but thought it would be too much to color it all in and decided to just flock a few. I had bought a small package of flock at the Scrapbook Cafe back in April ( I think it was by Around the Block?)) and it's been sitting in my scraproom ever since. Now that I have flocked, I'm hooked and have ordered some more flocks...going to try some of the "Doodlebug" flocks this time.
If you are interested in seeing some flocking in action my friend Lisa (aka the "Doodlebug Queen") has made a little demo.

Now isn't she such the enabler? A few of my scrappy habits have been fueled by her enabling. Lisa if you are reading you really need to start blogging!
