I'm sorry I haven't been a good blogger lately.
I've been busy being a soccer Mom and creating.
Today after the game I did take a few hours to drive up to Tuckerton...
I picked up some goodies at the Cafe (some new Fancy Pants "Fall" line) and while I was there I got a quick little peek inside One Little Spark. Awesome stuff coming soon! Pat and Lee were busy working getting ready for the grand opening on October 18th.
Speaking of Pat check out her blog tonight for the Saturday Night Challenge.
Now back to creating...stay tuned for some peeks soon.

As I promised
I did do something creative this afternoon and thought I'd share. A few years ago I started a little mini album for dance. Each year we add one or two pages. Usually from recital or the Mother's Day dance. But there are a few other pages in there too. Here is what the cover looks like:
The cover and back are 6x6 pieces of white chipboard, which I punched holes in and bound together with binder rings. The insides are just 6x6 pieces of white bazzil cardstock. The cover is embellished with some ballet slippers (Jolee's I think that B fell in love with on a visit to the Cafe a few years ago), a heidi swapp acrylic heart, MM rhinestone brad, some KI letters that I traced for her name, and an American Crafts rubon.
Well it's one of those projects, that I know I have to do; yet I procrastinate. Now Becca has been bugging me to update it (I was 2 years behind) So today was the day I decided to scratch it off my "to-do" list.
Here are the pages with the '07 recital & '08 Mother's Day dance on them:
"Kiss the Girl" page: Pink Paislee letter stickers, Hambly Journaling spot; American Crafts flowers and Kaiser Rhinestones. Mother's Day Dance: Rusty Pickle Pattern Paper, Heidi Swapp flower(large), small flower and ballerina sticker by AdornIt.
She was in 2 different numbers this year...luckily the colors in her costumes coordinated allowing me to do a 2 page spread. Pattern Paper: American Crafts; journaling spots: Maya Road office sheers; letter stickers: Scenic Route and MM tiny alphas.
There was also a Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony page from December '06 that I did too.
(I forgot to take a picture of that page)
Did I metion that somebody REALLY likes her book and was SO happy that I finally brought it up to date. (She always loves posing for pictures...I think she was jealous that the camera was pointed at the book instead of her  She insisted I take a picture of her with it.)
So I got up early...went to a soccer game, stopped at the grocery store, started some laundry, made a salad for a party we're attending tonight, then got busy creating. Now you're all caught up on my day and SO am I.
Tomorrow as I mentioned we have an afternoon soccer game about an hour away. So I doubt we'll talk again until Monday at the earliest. Enjoy the rest of your weekend.

Crazy busy
is what I've been this week! Just thought I'd take a moment to update you all while I'm sitting here with my cereal. Well besides working everyday this week this is what I've had after work:
3 soccer practices, 2 back-to-school nights and a dance class. Tonight will be the 1st night with nothing scheduled. Then Saturday morning Becca has a game, that evening a party. Then Sunday afternoon we'll be driving to Pitman for Fritz's game. So that explains where I've been.
The weather has certainly cooled off a bit this week. Last Sunday at the game it was 101 on the field. It might just break 70 today. I love fall and can't wait to get some pumpkins and mums to place on my porch (just need to find some time to do it ) Actually, it won't be so bad...just those back-to-school nights threw me this week.
Well that's my quick update. Now off to get lunches packed. TGIF to you all and we'll talk later; maybe I can even find something creative to show you.

Nothing new
has happened this week. We've officially gotten through the first full week of school. Settled into the routine of homework, sports practices, dance, and we've even added in a musical instrument this year...the alto saxophone. I'll have to get a picture of that soon.
Last night I went out to a jewelry party. So fun just to get out and hang/catch up with the "girls". Some I see every week at soccer, but others I haven't seen in a while. I also picked up a couple of new necklaces & a pair of earrings. I was alos informed that I'd be getting an invitation to a "Tastefully Simple" party in 2 weeks. Looking forward to seeing everyone again.
May try to get a little creative later today. For now it's off to get some chores done.

As the saying goes...
I killed 2 birds with 1 stone doing this weeks SNC. You see I was also working on doing my sponsor stuff over at Coordinates Collections, so why not combine the 2? I did!
Glitz Designs was the sponsor so the Pattern Paper I used was Glitz. Loved the fabulous bright colors in the "gigi" line. Well who am I kidding I loved the other papers too.
I cut the circle in the pink paper in my Cricut, then backed it with a piece of cute pattern paper. It's hard to tell but I applied Diamond Glaze to the birds to give them some shine & dimension. Then I added the rhinestone hearts (Junkitz I think). The sentiment was done with Doodlebug Simply Sweet Mini-rubons. There you have it. "be my tweet heart"
So I just put up the 3 layouts I did with the Glitz papers over at CC, but here is the layout I gave you a peek of the other day. And yes I know there is a gramatical error in the journaling. It has been FIXED. One of the many reasons why I love journaling strips. Less work to fix an error.
I believe these papers are from the "angst" line. Those black letter stickers actually have a green sparkle to them that I think would look great on some spooky Halloween layouts. The "number strip" is actually a rubon which went on very smoothly. The frame is a journaling spot which I cut out to use as a frame. The yellow stars are (Fancy Pants "every element set") which I used to highlight his grade this year.
So there you have it 2 more of the projects I worked on over the weekend. Hope you had a great Monday. Talk later.

True to the forecast...
it's been a wet & windy afternoon. Perfect for scrapping  It felt good to have no plans and to be able to curl up with some scrappy supplies.
My first project is a Back to School layout for the Scrapbook Cafe. The pattern paper is not something I would typically use, but it is perfectly themed(DCWV & it's hard to see but the apples are a red foil). I was also required to use one of the templates in stock at the store (see 2 posts ago) For this layout, I used the outside edge of the template to make my photo mat.
I mounted the green cardstock with foam tape so that it "pops" from the page. On top of my pictures I layered a piece of KI Memories lace cardstock. (I know it looks a little crooked but it is really pretty straight) From my stash I added a Maya Road Sheer Office spot that I placed a glittered AC Thicker on top of. As for that template I think it's pretty cool and have a few other ideas brewing.
Next I tackled another Back to School layout for Fritz. This time I used products from the October sponsor over at Coordinates Collections. Here's just a little peek at that one:
Any guesses? I'll be posting this layout and a few others on Monday night.
Now on to a little self-promotion....
I braved the wind and rain around 4pm to walk out to the mail box. Guess what I found?
My first thought was cool, a scrappy mag to read tonight. Then I realized it was the October issue. If you can get your hands on one it might be worth checking out page 85 !
Don't forget...it's Saturday Night. That means Pat will post another challenge on her blog at 8pm tonight.

ahhh Friday, finally!
and I'm safely tucked away in my own house. Can I just say that I'm a firm believer in the theory that barometric pressure & moon cycles effect people. Here is an example of one of the totally insane phone calls I received at work today:
Me: "Good afternoon Municipal Court, may I help you."
Young female caller: " Um yes, I was thinking of coming to the beach this weekend will you be evacuating the town?"
Me: "Well, this is the Court...I don't know."
Caller: "What do you mean you don't know? I just want to know if I can come down this weekend."
Me: " Well I really don't know. I haven't seen a weather report since before 7 this morning. I don't know what is going on. Let me see..."
Caller: "This is F***ing ridiculous; all I want to know is if I can come to the beach this weekend!"
click
Now before I was rudely interupted my statement was going to be..."Let me see if I can transfer you to someone who might know." Most phone calls were just as insane through out my day, yet the majority were work related...not Hurricane related. You really have to love being a public servant sometimes
Anyway, safely tucked away at home. Hanna can bring on her rain/wind tomorrow. Currently we're just under a Tropical Storm Warning, so it's not expected to be to bad at this point. I just finished printing pictures. I have ideas for several layouts floating around in my head and plan on spending the day scrapping away. Hopefully, Hanna will move out on Saturday night because Sunday afternoon we have a soccer game.

Even though it's the 1st I have nothing to show...
We're a little behind this month at Coordinates Collections for 2 reasons. First, the kits this month had some new CHA goodies and you know how shipping can be with the new stuff (grrr.) and secondly...we had a wedding! Jamie got married this weekend and is now off enjoying herself on her honeymoon. All the web changes will take place next week, so stay tuned. I'm a sponsor girl this month so I've got to get busy with some fun stuff this week.
I just posted the Guest Design Team Member Contest over on the Forum (a fun product assignment/challenge). I probably won't post the Sponsor Contest stuff until after I get a picture of the prize package from Jamie...so look for that next week.
Well speaking of some fun stuff...have you seen these templates in at the Scrapbook Cafe?
There's actually a variety in stock, but this is the one I chose this month to use with my DT project. All those diamonds just looked so fun! So with this template, some KI lace cadrstock, & DCWV pattern paper. I'm going to create a layout for this months project.
So this is the week we settle in to our daily routine, school starts, soccer practice 2x's a week, a game next weekend. It all begins! So this weekend we did absolutely nothing! The last weekend of summer vacation. Today I did a few loads of laundry, picked some veggies out of the garden and made this delicious creation:
a Tomatoe Tart. mmm, so good! Fresh tomatoe slices, garlic, cheese and a little salt & pepper. How simple! That and some fresh fruit was our lunch today.
Well I hope you all enjoyed your long weekend. Stay tuned for some scrappy projects later in the week. (I'm still trying to come up with a clever framing idea for the SNC...so far I've got NOTHING!)
