Recap of the last few days...

Well on Saturday I arrived here:

After Lisa arrived we went to a preview party for SEI (some fun new stuff coming out from them) and then awaited the arrival of Jamie, Dave and Susie.

Sunday morning after a hearty breakfast (energy for walking the show) we proceeded to collect catalogs and samples. Here are a few pictures of some new stuff...

This is one of the new Basic Grey lines...Lime Rickey. Love those fun bright colors!

This one is from the Prima booth. It's a canvas album and fabric flower embellishment. They also had some fun canvas tags.

We found this company in the new exhibitor section...Jillibean Soup is their name. We all fell in love and wish them the best as they enter the scrapping business. Most of their stuff is printed on kraft paper (don't you just love that?) and isn't that font just the coolest?

So after walking the show floor and eatting dinner it's back to the room to get to work. Here's a shot of one of the beds....loaded with papers and some catalogs.

so besides filling the beds Lisa had the brilliant idea of storyboards. So we used every available metal or glass surface to hang product, catalogs, or just sticky notes as we were putting to gether kits.

I've purposely smudged/removed color from the papers so it's harder for you to figure out the kits...can't give away whats coming in the future, but if I do say so myself I think they are pretty darn good.

This was the routine each day adding in a few make & takes on the show floor. Then at night we wrap it up about 10:30/11pm and for some reason Susie, Lisa and I usually stayed up another hour talking.

So today I said goodbye to Jamie, Dave and Susie as they headed home to Utah. Dan flew out last night so now we are staying at Disney for a few days. Lisa is here too with her family. We will meet up with them tomorrow for a meal and then say goodbye.

For now I will say goodbye from the "Happiest Place on Earth"....

My to do list is getting smaller

Wednesdays are my early days out of work so I swung by the grocery store to lay in groceries for my peeps while I'm away. Now I just have to get all my stuff together...do a last minute load of laundry(or 2) and start packing. Getting excited about having a week in Calif, but at the same time I will miss my peeps too.

I'm thinking I may bring the laptop...so I may be able to give you updates from CA, but will see when I start the packing process.

A little exciting blog news...October Afternoon has finally started a blog! I'm liking what I see so far and those people at Fancy Pants are just killing me...today they show kraft diecut papers!!!

I have a little addiction with kraft.

BTW... Heather if you stop over to read, will you be working at the Amuse booth or are you just shopping for your Mom? I'm arriving Saturday afternoon. I'll try to stop by Amuse to see you.

That's all for now, talk later.

The end of the 3day weekend

Yesterday we went to a friends to watch football and when we left it was a sleet/snow mix. We awoke today to about 1" of snow and it proceeded to snow off and on all day (very lightly...no more than about 2" altogether) Luckily for us all we were all home to enjoy. The kids were outside before they even had breakfast!

With only a small amount of snow...you get small snowmen!

So I finished up all the laundry, submitted my DT projects, and since one of my projects turned into a gift I made a tag for the present. While coming up with my tag design I decided to incorporate Heather's Friday Spark. Since meeting Heather last winter at CHA I hop over to her blog every once in a while...her Friday Spark's always look like fun but I've never played before.

Here's a picture of the wrapped present...just got to take it to the post office tomorrow or wednesday.

and a closeup of the tag...

The spark was to cut out a stamped image and use it on a project. Well you all know how I love my cutwork (haven't been doing much lately) Here I stamped 3 little birds (using the A Muse "tiny bird" stamp) I flocked their bodies in pink and glittered the little beeks orange. Love the Sakura glue pen for this small detail work. After cutting them out I adhered to my tag with pop dots. The striped pattern paper is Bella Blvd, cardstock: Bazzill; Flower: Making Memories; Fiskars Theading Water punch and American Crafts Precision pen.

Talk later.

I found this yesterday...

and it has gone to the top of my list...

In my opinion you really can't go wrong with FANCY PANTS and this line is proof. I can't wait to see it in person next week and then I will definitely be dying to get my hands on some. If you check their blog you can see a preview of one of the other new lines..."Whimsy". Well still busy cleaning and creating. Got to get everything done before the game this afternoon...Go EAGLES!

Okay I'm back with an update....RUN don't walk over to the Fancy Pants blog they just posted the most incredible mixed media 8x8 mini albums. Oh so many uses for those. Alrighty then this post is turning into a FP ad, but I just can't help it sorry.

Note to self...must stop surfing the net and must finish chores around the house. No more computer until it's all done.

Still very cold...

so it's a good day to stay in and scrap. I did finish a layout using the "Tweetie" kit over at Coordinates Collections last night. Just for you I braved the cold a little while ago and took it outside to take some pictures so I could share a peek with you.

Loving this kit! I will tell you that the Jenni Bowlin sticker you can partially see in the picture does not come with the kit, but is an addon option available in the store. I plan on scrapping atleast one more layout with the kit today. I have an idea for an altered item...but that would require me leaving the house to get said item. Maybe tomorrow??? Perhaps it will be warmer.

Other than that I must get the household clean & organized for my week away. I'm still loving what I'm seeing as far as CHA sneeks from my favorite companies. Looking forward to Monday when Pink Paislee will begin showing their new stuff.

Hope you all are staying warm.

Brrr...it's cold

and it's suppose to get even colder as the week goes by. Today was my early day out of work...came straight home and started a fire. Now after doing a few odds and ends I'm sitting here with the lap top enjoying the warmth.

So as I stated in an earlier post I've been surfing the net checking different blogs looking at peeks of the good things to be released at CHA. Today I just stumbled across this on the Cosmo Cricket blog. Wow...I'm seriously lovin the "Girl Friday" & "Snorkel" lines! (The others aren't bad either) . I'm sure by the time CHA gets here I'll have a list a mile long...I totally admit that I am hopelessly addicted to SB supplies. It's a good thing I don't have a bigger room and a bigger SB budget.

Hoping to work on a layout later tonight...I just printed out the picture I want to use. For right now I think I'm just going to sit here a bit more and enjoy the warmth of the fire. (oh and maybe find a few more things on the 'net that I can add to my list)

Monday already???

Well the weekend sure did fly by! I did manage to get my scrapbook room cleaned up. You can actually see the work surface again. My kit didn't arrive on saturday as I hoped and the fact that the kids had a pretty busy "social" weekend (parties and friends over to play) I didn't get anything crafty done. One good thing about that...my room is still clean!

So between the odds and ends I got done around the house, I finished up a book I had been reading and watched some football yesterday.

Today my kit did arrive. Here's a preview of what I'm working with this month...

It's the "Tweetie" kit available for preorder over at Coordinates Collections. Lots of fun goodies from Crate Paper, Bella Blvd, and Making Memories to name a few. Right now it's spread out on the counter so I can look at it and decided which pictures I want to use. Can't stare too long...need to get it all done by the 23rd.

Have you been stalking blogs checking for sneak peeks? I just hopped over to a few. Creative Cafe has some posted and Making Memories too. I'm sure in the next week we'll be seeing a lot more. Anxiously awaiting to see what Pink Paislee, Fancy Pants & October Afternoon release to name a few. Hard to believe only 12 days until I'm there.
