1 more day...

then I can reveal my projects over at Coordinates Collections and 1 more day left in April.

So....if there's 1 day left in the month that means in 4 days I will be here:

and probably while there I'll see this guy:

Also it's the Flower Show at Epcot! Love what Disney does with plants...if only I could perform half that "magic" on my own flowers. I have plans this year to do a mini album of just the flowers from the show...hopefully I can capture how amazing this event is.

Is it May yet???

April has been such a hectic month...so glad it's almost over!

So again another crazy week and I'm sorry I didn't get any peeks posted earlier. I just finished sending off my projects, but I do have a little peek for you:

This was such a fun kit to work with this month, so INSPIRING! I just wish I had more time to relax and play with it. My kit was the "Celebration" kit. Lots of fun bright primary colors and I did get a few party themed layouts done. When I selected this kit, the only thing I was a bit hesitant about were the 2 sheets of BG "Cupcake"paper...it was my least favorite of their new releases. However, the other items in this kit were really calling to me. Hey and guess what...I used the BG papers and loved how the layouts look!

So I'm finishing up some laundry and have dinner started in the CrockPot. I need to check out what's going on over at the "Cyber Crop" at Coordinates Collections. I think most of the activities were yesterday, but you have all weekend to do the challenges and there will be some fun prizes sent to the winners. And then there is the Saturday night challenge on Pat's blog. Can you believe I haven't been on the computer since Friday????

Just checking in...

this weekend has been a blur! We had beautiful weather all weekend and I actually got some weeding done...already to plant my summer flowers. Yesterday's event at the Scrapbook Cafe went over well. I had fun meeting some of you and talking scrapbooking. Got to introduce some of you to one of my fave new lines...ZACH'S LIFE by Little Yellow Bicycle. Had a few newbies to Stickles and the Catseye Chalk Inks...I think we got a few hooked . Fellow DT member Susan stopped in with her daughter and hung out for a while. Her daughter has been digging in to Mom's stash and brought some of her pages to share with us...she's going to be a great scrapper. Anyway looking forward to the next event....June when the Cafe celebrates it's 5 year anniversary!!!!! Stay tuned for more info.

I came home from work and got straight to work on my DT stuff for Coordinates Collections. In my mind I have 3 layouts already done...those kits are SO dang inspiring!!! I just need the actual time to sit down and put them together. I'm almost done the 1st layout (just breaking for dinner) so hopefully tomorrow I can give you a peek.

Happy Monday everyone!

As promised...

here is a picture of my Make & Takes for tomorrow.

I've done 2 versions of each project to give everyone an idea of what they can do with the individual project. In theory I would like to think I've provided a foundation and each person can build on that foundation making the project "their own". We'll see how that works. I'm a bit nervous about how they will be received...I've never done anything like this before. My one project I absolutely love and the other 2 are just so-so in my opinion.
I hope to see you all at the Scrapbook Cafe tomorrow afternoon. Right now I'm off to get an early dinner ready, then were off to see a local production of "Beauty and the Beast"

only 15 days...

until I will be strolling around Disney!!! After this week I can't wait. Condensed we had 4 nights of soccer, 2 cub scout functions, a dance class, tumbling and receital pictures. Whew...so glad it's behind us.

Along with all this I've been drooling all over my kit from Coordinates Collections...I can't wait to get started with that! First though I must get thru Sunday afternoon. Pat & I have put together some fun Make & Takes using some of the fun stuff we got at CHA. We'll be hosting an event at the Scrapbook Cafe from 1-4pm on Sunday afternoon. I've designed a card and two different tags; using products from Basic Grey, My Little Yellow Bicycle and Fancy Pants. Today I finished cutting all the pieces needed for the projects and have started bagging them up for demo/ M&T. Right now I have some treats in the oven...just in case you get hungry while your creating or shopping for some new scrappy goodies ! Oh and I hear Angela may have some fun prizes to give away. It sounds like a fun afternoon...so if you're in the area stop by the Cafe. We'd love to see you there.

Maybe tomorrow afternoon or evening I'll post a little peek at my projects for our event.

Have I mentioned...

...how crazy life is for me. Here's my schedule today. Take kids to bus stop...other Mom has to leave for a family emergency (I later find out her father passed away in his sleep) so now I have 4 kids waiting for the bus and of course it shows up late! I arrive at work late...work thru an incredibly SLOW day until 4:30pm. Race home pickup Becca (who actually was dressed and ready) to go to her soccer game which starts at 5. Dan met us with Fritz there a little later (they stayed home so he could get homework done) Fritz had Scout function at 6pm...stop there to make sure Dan arranged a ride home for him, since Dan has to go teach a class at 7pm. Just finished feeding Becca dinner(have Fritz's warm in the oven) and that's basically what the rest of the week sounds like. Now can you understand why I haven't been getting much scrapping done during the week? Oh and I so want to...I got lots of ideas brewing in my head! By the time I finally stop at night I just don't have the energy. I did get my scraproom cleaned up last night...it looked like a bomb exploded in it. As soon as I finish this I need to get some soccer uniforms in the laundry!

Now for some scrappy news....remember the cut up cardstock picture from Saturday? They are pieces for a MAKE & TAKE event at the Scrapbook Cafe. We're planning it for this Sunday April 2oth. Time to be announced...keep checking the Cafe website or the blogs. I have a card worked up using the new Basic Grey Boxer line and I have 2 tags planned using some new Fancy Pants and Pink Paislee. I just need you all to pray to the "scrap gods" that these products get delivered this week...otherwise I'm going to have to scramble for some ideas. I do know that Pat has a few projects planned too. It should be a fun day!

Challenge complete!

Don't you hate it when life interupts your scrapping plans?!

I didn't get to work on this as much as I wanted yesterday then can you believe I had to go to work today? Anyway once I got home collected kids (from playdates/soccer) and made dinner I did the journaling and got some half-way decent pictures. (Thank goodness we're on daylight savings time and my other half is working nights) Let me just say I took Pat's idea and went a little further with it...my inside cover states "The story of "us" in a pictorial timeline". So I started with a picture from the day we became official (our wedding) and highlighted most of the years up to now. So without further ado, here it is:

I totally love how this turned out and I actually used stuff I had been hoarding!

Supplies: Bazzill Cardstock; Lil Davis Glittered Chipboard letters; American Crafts: Pattern Paper (the Metroploitan line) and Thickers; Heidi Swapp Clear Acrylic shapes; Stickles; Kaiser rhinestones & journaling rubons; Making Memories metal word tags; Cats eye ink...Prussian blue; white signo pen & American Crafts journaling pen. Oh and ribbon scraps from my stash.

I covered a lot of the clear acrylic accents with Stickles, which did slow down the process of assembly. If not for them I probably would have finished yesterday.

As I said most came from my stash but you can pickup the Kaiser rubons & rhinestones, Stickles, and Colorbox CatsEye Inks at the Scrapbook Cafe.

So after finishing this I allowed myself to tear into the box I had waiting for me from Coordinates Collections. Inside was my totally delish DT kit(...I picked "Celebration" this month) and a few other goodies....see below:

So I've got a busy week ahead, but I'm going to try to do some scrappin too!

I just have to share a peek....

of what I'm working on for this challenge.

I'm having so much fun doing it...thanks Pat!

If you are on the fence about doing it...just give it a try. I wasn't sure about it and once I sat down it has just started to fall together on it's own. I might even stay up late tonight to work on this...hopefully it will turn out just like the "vision" in my mind.

Now I'm off to work on this some more. The guys are at the Phillies game so I have a few more hours to work on it. Can't wait to see what you come up with!

Saturday bloggin....

Well the weather held off. Warm and partly sunny for the first game and pretty much the same for the second game, but a few scattered sprinkles thrown in. The girls game ended up a tie 2-2 and the boys won their game 2-1. I have no pictures from the girls game...half way thru I realized I didn't put my memory card back inthe camera. duh! Luckily, the boys field is right down the street from our house, so on the way to that game I swung by the house and put a card in my camera. I haven't take any pictures at the boys games this year and the season is almost over. Since I happened to be married to the coach; I usually try to get an action shot of each player to give out at the last game. In PSE I usually add a frame to the picture & add the team name and year...I took 70 pictures today. One of tomorrows projects will be to sort thru them see who I have good shots of and who I still need...only 3 more games left:wink:

Here's 2 from this morning....

Came home, had lunch, dropped Fritz off at a friends house; then Becca and I headed up to the Cafe. Not much new has come in but I did pick up some cardstock and a few inks.

Here's what the cardstock looks like now....

Any guesses????? Thank goodness for my Cricut

Don't forget to check Pat's blog at 8pm for this weeks Saturday Night Challenge

TGIF...it's been a long week!

Work has been so blah lately...I find myself sitting there wishing I was home scrapping or just puttering around the house.

Tonight on the way home I picked up sandwiches (hoagies) from our favorie Italian takeout place...it's only open seasonly...so we wait all winter for them to reopen. I picked up 4 different hoagies, came home cut them into little pieces so everyone could choose different things. My absolute favorite is the Roasted Red Pepper Hoagie....mmm good washed down with a small glass of cold beer.

The weather forecast is "ify" for tomorrow, so I don't know about soccer in the morning. Afterwards I'd like to get up to the Scrapbook Cafe. I've got a few things I need to pickup and just feel like browsing a bit...which actually equates to me buying more than I orginally came in for

Not much to blog about...

I haven't done anything "scrappy related" since Sunday afternoon. Yesterday went to a soccer game which brings me to the question...."What's with this weather????" It was in the 70's and beautiful on Saturday and it has been wet and cold ever since. Finally today around 4pm the sun came back out. Hopefully tomorrow afternnon will be nice...another soccer game and they are much better when the sun is shining and the temperature is warmer:wink:

On a side note I played Wii for the 1st time tonight...we finally broke down and got one the other weekend, but I finally played tonight. I'm not much of a "gamer", but I did play a couple of rounds of bowling and a few games of Tennis... fun stuff!

one more for today...

and this one I feel much better about:

A layout about our Easter Egg hunt on the beach. All pattern paper on the layout is Imaginisce(it's doublesided so it's really only 2 sheets) available at the Scrapbook Cafe. The journaling tag is one of my DT projects from Coordinates Collections. The stickers, pattern paper and chipboard are Scenic Route (the sponsor last month) the flower and brad are American Crafts. The title is made up of 2 different sets of Thickers from American Crafts. Bunny & Beach are done with the brand new Roller Rink Glitter Thickers...the picture doesn't do them justice.

Well that's all from me this weekend...going to go sit down and watch a little Nascar action while the last 2 loads of laundry are finishing up.

Saturday Night Challenge #6...

...well here it is and I will say I'm not thrilled with it.

Sketches bother me a bit...don't like being dictated to I guess.

For this I dug into some pieces from an old KI Memories Christmas kit.
All the pattern paper and epoxy stickers are KI. Added some Thickers & Purkey rubons from American Crafts.

Well I've spent most of the morning "helping" to do research on the internet for a science project/poster on the planet URANUS. Science is not my favorite subject. Hopefully I've completed my tasks and I can leave him to finish it up and I can go scrap on this rainy day.

Limited internet...grrrrrrr!

Let's see...soccer was cancelled (due to the storms we were suppose to have overnight & this morning) so I had my morning free. I started the never ending pile of laundry and decided to jump on the computer. I had some emails I wanted to do, a template to print out from an email and some other stuff...including helping Fritz with a school project which required some research on the net. Comcast is experiencing some kind of technical difficulties...I can't access my email, can get on some sites but not others! Just very frustrating and it shows how much I've become dependent on the 'net.

I did work on some Make & Take projects that have been brewing in my head...more to come on that subject at a later date

Don't forget it is Saturday...the challenge will be posted at 8pm tonight over on Pat's blog.
Her hints so far...it's a layout, you're using your old stash, and it's based on a sketch/template.

A fun contest...

Is anyone a fan of Teresa Collins? Have you seen her new line she released at winter CHA?
I've always been a fan of her work and had the pleasure of meeting her at CHA. What a nice person. We also had a piece of paper from her "Bella" line in this months "My Fair Lady" kit at CC. Fun stuff!!!

If any of the above sounds appealing or you just want to participate in a fun mini album contest; check this little contest being run at Coordinates Collections. I've already ordered my kit (I'm not sure I can compete in the contest...but the deal was too good and I think I want to use it for an upcoming trip in May)

I hope this is not an April Fool's joke....

but I got a phone call & an email from Scrapbooks Etc today....I'm TOOOOOTING!!!!

Yay they want one of my favorite layouts for their "Everyday Moments" call for the October 2008 issue. I really thought all the calls for this had already gone out and just resubmitted to another magazine...lesson learned never give up hope.

Anyway it is the 1st of the month so the full kits are up at Coordinates Collections and previews for the May kits are up too. I've got to get over there and get some of those addons in my cart

I've posted all my projects over in the gallery already (so if your interested...go take a peek) but I will show you my layout that I did using the cardboard.....

Hope you've all had a great April 1st....I certainly did!
